Voter Photo ID Status: Required

Voters must show a photo ID to receive a ballot at the November General Election.  The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago has stayed the injunction against the voter photo ID provisions of 2011 Wisconsin Act 23.

New Free State ID Card Policy for People without Birth Certificates

The Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles has a new policy starting September 15, 2014 to help people who need a free state ID card for voting, in the event the ID requirement is reinstated.
